HOW I STYLE FOR A DATENIGHT

Our apartment is chaotic right now, we are painting all the walls and yesterday our refrigerator broke down. No refrigerator, no food, so we went out for dinner yesterday. Eating at restaurants in Oslo is really expensive, for example, a glass of wine, about £ 10... No need to say, we don`t do it very often, so when we do I really enjoy it.

Anyway, expensive or not, this is what I wore. I found this skirt on sale at Zara. I love the length and volume, and I think the pattern is kind of cute.

With that said, I love every piece of clothing I find that I can style with orange. So when I can wear both a orange longsleeved t-shirt and my orange fringed heels, I`m in heaven actually.

And for a night out a jacket is required so my denimjacket is always a lifesaver.

A gold clutch to top it off, and I`m ready to go! In the chaos at home I couldn`t find my camera, so I had to borrow my youngest sons pocketcamera. My husband is not used to using it, so sorry for the poor quality of the pictures (and for the date and time...)

HOW I STYLE THE OFF SHOULDER SHIRT/#iwillwearwhatilike link-up

My DIY off shoulder shirt, I am so pleased with it. I like that it has a lot of volume, that makes it so comfortable.

The three coloured stripes makes it easy to style with other colours.

For this look I matched the shirt with my navy highwaisted shorts. I do like wearing shorts, and I like it when the shorts goes half way down my thighs, any shorter would be too short, I reckon.

I don`t have any preferences when it comes to what kind of shoes to wear with shorts, but I do find that high heels with shorts can sometimes be tricky. It can very fast give a vulgar look, and that`s not what I am aiming for.

So wearing a off shoulder shirt together with a shorts, I chose to style them with sneakers, so my beloved Stan Smith`s went for yet another spin. Please notice the broomstick on the floor; I am some kind of housewife, you see.....NOT!

Who says a toiletry bag can`t be used as a clutch?

HOW I STYLE THE RED OFF-SHOULDER DRESS/#iwillwearwhatilike link-up

I started my summer vacation on monday, I`m having 14 days off work, and I`m spending them at home.

We usually travel to Spain for the summer, but this year we had to change our plans. But never the less I still get dressed, and this is how I style the red off-shoulder dress from H&M which every other lady seems to own.

Red together with gold is always a good idea, so I styled the dress with my gold flipflops and a gold clutch,

The dress is something in between off-shoulder and cold shoulder, I think it`s more off-shoulder. I`m not into cold shoulder, it`s just something about the holes in the sleeves that just don`t beccome me.

I use a strapless bra with this dress, I hate it when you can see the straps, and because this dress has a strange cut I couldn`t wear a regular bra. More about my and bras here.

The weather in Oslo is not all bad these days, so I hope I can do some sunbathing, I would really like that. I LOVE THE SUN!!

I`m sorry Catherine, but this is as far as I go in mixing patterns.

I am actually mixing stripes with stars, way out of my comfort zone.

I kept the colours down to gray and black, I mean we`re talking about mixing patterns here!

This will not be a every day thing for me, I am not into mixing patterns. I know some ladies who looks GREAT in a pattern mix. I am not one of those ladies.

Here I am, just walking towards my husband who happens to be taking pictures of me.

At this point I had been out for about 12 hours, I just want to mention it because my hair looked better when I left home.

Mixing what patterns, you say? Stripes and dots, of course.

I am way out of my comfort zone, I don`t mix patterns, ever! Although I can appreciate dots with stripes, they are hardly patterns in my book.

The white jeans is perfect in chilly summer weather, it`s just that I can wear them one day, than I have to wash them. I am hopeless like that.

HOW I STYLE THE LITTLE BROWN DRESS

A very simple brown dress.

 

I love 70`s feel of the shoes, the heels and the lace up together with the gold details give the shoes just the right look. And makes them a easy match to the simple brown dress.



The dress itself is not much 70`s style, but the shoes and my vintage bag gives me the look I aiming for.

 

 

Brown is actually a colour I really like, and I like it better in the summer. I think brown is beautiful against tanned skin, not that I have any tan at the moment, but never the less tan + brown = beautiful! 

 

 

Due to my lack of tan I styled the dress with a black pencilskirt, and it is also a good idea with a bit more clothes when the temperature is not remotely like a summer temperature. Oh, a belt, I wore a belt.

HOW I STYLE A GREEN DRESS

Yesterdays outfit was very simple. I went for a green dress that I have had for years. I like that it is longer in the back than in the front. Probably no need to say that I love the colours. Green is a great colour!

 

I styled it with my leopard boots, I`m not much of a mis-matcher, but when I wear a monochrome dress I find that I have become more daring with what style it with.

HOW I STYLE GINGHAM TROUSERS/#iwillwearwhatilike link-up

I try to participate in the #iwillwearwhatilike link-up, hosted by the lovely Catherine, every week, this week gingham was the keyword. I didn`t even think that I owned anything gingham, until I found these trousers in my closet so they had to do for the link-up.

 

The weather is terrible in Oslo at the moment so I`m back on my porch for the pictures of my outfit. We didn`t dare to go outside because the rainshowers comes suddenly and with thunder and lightning, great summerweather in other words.

 

 

Anyway, I love this orange long sleeved T-shirt, the colour is great. I tend to style it with this little cardigan, I think the colours looks nice together. And the cardigan makes it just a little bit more stylish to wear a T-shirt.

 

 

The shoes are one of my all-time favourite pair, I know I say that about practical all my shoes, but it`s true, I love them all!

And a clutch, I love all my clutches too, my favourite kind of bag.

HOW I STYLE SKINNY JEANS

Yesterdays outfit was not planned at all. I always plan my outfits for the coming week on sundays. And I did on sunday as well, it`s just that when  I woke up yesterday it seemed as summer was over, so everything I had planned to wear would have made me freeze my butt off, and we wouldn`t have that now would we?

So I desided to wear skinny jeans, jeans is always a good idea, boring but a good idea.

 

And with the jeans I needed a sweater, so I put this oversized, patterned sweater on.

 

 

Then I needed shoes, after a few days without heels I needed heels, so my orange babies that also brought out the colour of the pattern on the sweater was the ones I chose.

 

And there`s yesterdays not planned outfit.

 

 

I hope summer haven`t forgotten Oslo completely, but will return to us soon.

HOW I STYLE RED, WHITE AND BLUE/#iwillwearwhatilike link-up

 This dress was last years christmas dress, I wore it to a christmasparty and on christmas-eve.

But then it occured to me that with a singlet and sneakers (still struggeling with my blisters) it can easily be worn as a summer dress.

And I must say that the dress/sneakers thing is growing on me, not very rapidly bet never the less, growing on me.

Wondering why I haven`t been wearing any accessories lately? Check out my Instagram, I`m tonespabergolsen. I do that every summer, change to just a couple af thin gold necklaces.

Everytime I wear red my day gets so much better, bright colours are just my thing.

HOW I STYLE RED, WHITE AND BLUE/#iwillwearwhatilike link-up

My new navy dress from COS together with my white Stan Smith`s and of cource my new bestfriend, Ruby Woo.

 

Because I wore dress with sneakers just a couple of days ago, I wouldn`t normally go for the same combination just yet. But I managed to get two huge blisters from the shoes I wore on tuesday, the are so painful that I didn`t even bother to take pictures of the outfit, all I could think about was getting home after work and get them off. So therefore sneakers agian. Oh, problems, problems.....

 



 

I know the dress is somewhat wrinkled, that is just one of the cons of having to take pictures for the blog after work. If I were to take them before work I`ll be back on my porch, we don`t have time for anything more than that in my family in the mornings. So we do it in the afternoon with wrinkles instead.

 

 

 

But then again, noone can accuse me of cheating, what you see is what I`ve been wearing all day and for me that is the point of it all.

 

 

The dresses from COS are really great, they are so simple with some nice details like the buttons in the back, the pocket and the asymmetrically. And great quality. Love them!
